Putting children and young people at the heart of everything we do

Founded in 2020, Silver Lining Care Ltd was established with a vision to provide trauma‑informed, therapeutic residential care to children and young people in Wales.

Our mission

“To provide a safe, nurturing, and structured environment where every young person can begin healing, develop meaningful relationships, and achieve their full potential through therapeutic, trauma‑informed care and personalised support.”

We specialise in supporting young people with complex emotional, behavioural and social needs. Our care is bespoke and child‑centred, with development pathways that promote stability, self‑worth and positive long‑term outcomes.

What guides our work every day

The principles that shape our culture, routines and relationships.

Therapeutic safety

“Children who are loved and accepted learn to love and accept themselves.”

This belief shapes everything we do — from how we welcome a young person on day one, to how we celebrate their final step towards independence.

“Silver Lining Care was founded on the idea that children deserve more than just a placement, they deserve a home where they’re truly seen, heard, and supported. I’m proud of the culture we’ve built: one that values high standards, invests in people, and always puts children first. Clinical Psychologist

I'm a clinical psychologist with over 40 years of experience working with children, young people, and adults facing challenges like trauma, emotional distress, and substance use. I’ve worked in the NHS, led national addiction services, and spent several years supporting young people in secure residential care. My passion is helping children feel safe, understood, and valued. I now work closely with care teams to bring trauma-informed, compassionate support into residential settings—so every young person has the chance to heal and grow.

“I have worked with Silver Lining since they established their first house, Ty Alban. I have worked in a number of ways with them both providing supervision and training and working with individual children. Working with these children the staff do need supervision because many of these children exhibit very difficult behaviours and staff need support and sometimes advice. I have worked well with the managers, Jade, Paula, Helen and Carl and admire the work they do.”
